Information you provide
We collect account details such as email address and authentication identifiers, guest Backer Tags, profile choices, listing submissions, contact messages and the quantity and target of each Back. If you continue as a guest, the service still creates a technical account identifier so your activity can be attributed and protected.
Payments
Stripe processes payment-card data. MostBacked does not receive or store full card numbers. We receive transaction identifiers, amount, currency, payment status, refund and dispute facts, and limited billing or fraud-prevention information needed to reconcile the ranking ledger and support a transaction.
Automatic data
We and our providers may collect IP address, device and browser information, timestamps, pages or actions used, approximate location, referral data, cookies and similar identifiers, and security or error logs. We use this information to operate, protect, diagnose and measure the service.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate users; process and reconcile Backs; calculate Monthly and All-Time rankings; publish profiles and activity selected for public display; prevent abuse; respond to support, privacy and legal requests; maintain security; analyze performance; and comply with law and provider obligations.
What is public
Your Backer Tag, public profile, badges or ranks, and backing activity presented as public can be seen and shared by anyone. Do not use a Backer Tag that reveals information you want kept private. Your payment card, private authentication identifier and contact-form email are not displayed as part of a listing or public profile.
Providers and disclosures
We use service providers including Supabase for database and authentication, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, and Vercel for hosting and delivery. They process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, during a business transaction, or with your direction. We do not give listed businesses your payment-card details.
Cookies and local storage
The service may use cookies or browser storage for authentication, session continuity, security, preferences and measurement where enabled. Blocking essential storage may prevent sign-in, guest profiles or payment flows from working.
Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain the append-only payment and ranking audit trail, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal, tax, accounting and provider requirements. Public profile information may be removed or de-identified where appropriate, but transaction records may need to remain.
Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction or deletion of eligible personal information and may ask questions about processing through the Contact page. Rights vary by location, and we may verify your identity before acting. Some records cannot be deleted immediately where retention is required or needed to preserve transaction and ranking integrity.
Security
We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, but no service can promise absolute security. Contact us promptly if you believe an account, payment or personal-information issue has occurred. Do not send passwords, complete card numbers or secrets through the contact form.
Children
MostBacked is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account or submit personal information. Paid Backs require a user who is at least 18 and legally able to contract.
United States operations
MostBacked operates from the United States. If you use the service from another country, your information may be processed and stored in the United States and other places where our providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards and law.
